As part of the National SEND (Special Education Needs and Disability) Reforms of 2014, schools have been asked to produce a Local Offer. This guide is published as a reference for new and existing school parents.

SEND Support & Information

The Local Offer is a collection of information provided by the Local Authority about the facilities and agencies available for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. It is intended to provide parents with more information about the places where they can find support for their children and young people with SEND.  It also serves to enable agencies to work together through signposting parents to different types of support. You can find Lancashire's Local Offer by clicking here.

FIND (Family Information Network Directory) provides a directory of local and national services including voluntary organisations and support groups as well as producing four newsletters each year. To use the directory, to read the latest newsletter or to sign up to have the newsletter sent to your email, please click here

SEND IAS -  Lancashire SEND Information, Advice and Support is a statutory service which is run at ‘arm’s length’ from the Local Authority and provides free, confidential, impartial advice, guidance and support to parents of children with special educational needs and disabilities. They may offer support by telephone, email or meetings depending on your circumstances. They also offer free courses for parents. Click here to find out more.

The Children & Family Well-being Service provide a wide range of services to help with parenting and other support you may need. They support families of children and young people from 0-19 years old and young people with SEND up to the age of 25. Click here to find out more.
